I have taken on the chair of the committee to setup the FIREOPS101 program that we as a Local and as a Department are planning later this year. This program is designed to run political leaders and media personalities through several mock scenarios of our choosing involving all facets of our job. The participants actually wear the gear and function in the scenarios which enlightens them to the work we all do everyday.
We need lots of help though to pull off this event successfully. Anyone that wants to help especially instructors of both fire and EMS programs would be very helpful in setting up and running the events. WE also will need plenty of help in the admin and food setup, organization and general legwork.
